Prevention of Unfair Participation and Legal Measures for the Seoul Marathon
The Seoul Marathon Organizing Committee is working to reduce unfair participation to ensure fair competition and safe operation of the event.
For those who are unable to participate due to injuries, business trips, or other unavoidable circumstances, the committee offers a priority registration right for the 2026 Seoul Marathon (for a fee) if they return their bib numbers by March 14th (Friday).
Participating with someone else's bib number, transferring, selling, or copying a bib number, or participating without registering (known as "bandit running") are all considered unfair participation.
These actions not only hinder fair event management but also pose serious safety risks to participants.
If caught engaging in unfair participation, the participant's event record will be deleted, and they will be disqualified from participating in the Seoul Marathon for the next five years.
Additionally, if violations of relevant laws such as forgery of private documents or obstruction of business are confirmed, legal measures may be taken under civil and criminal law.
The Seoul Marathon Organizing Committee requests your active cooperation in ensuring fair event management.
Thank you.
