RUN JOURNEY
Runjourney Race:
A Dream Marathon Expedition from Seoul to Gongju to Gyeongju
The Runjourney Race, a year-long marathon experience hosted by the Dong-A Ilbo, is back again this year. As the name suggests, Runjourney is a running journey that starts in Seoul, passes through Gongju, and concludes in Gyeongju. It is a marathon challenge that involves participating in all three Dong-A Ilbo-organized races.
Participants who complete the 2025 Seoul Marathon and go on to finish races of 10km or more at both the Gongju Baekje Marathon and the Gyeongju International Marathon in the latter half of the year will receive not only the official finisher medals for each event, but also an exclusive Runjourney Medal. This special medal will be awarded after completing the Gyeongju International Marathon.
In addition to the Runjourney Race, the Dong-A Marathon Runner of the Year Award—established in 2007 to promote grassroots running—recognizes outstanding male and female masters runners across age groups. To be eligible, runners must participate in the Seoul Marathon in March as well as the Gongju Baekje and Gyeongju International Marathons in the fall.
