TERM & CONDITIONS

■ Important Notes

  • Participant Health Status
    • Participants must confirm their ability to safely participate in the race by consulting a medical institution before registering.
    • Participants are responsible for considering their own health condition when deciding to join the event.
    • The organizers will place ambulances and emergency medical personnel at key points along the course in case of emergencies.
    • Any injuries or accidents that occur during the race will be covered by the event’s liability insurance within the policy limits; the organizers are not responsible beyond those limits.
  • No False Names or Transfers
    • Registration under a false name or transferring your participation to someone else is not allowed.
    • If the actual participant and the insurance policyholder (the registered applicant) are different, no compensation will be provided for any accidents that occur during the event.
    • If it is discovered that someone has participated under another’s name or transferred their entry, they may face disadvantages such as future participation restrictions.



■ Insurance Coverage

The 2026 Seoul Marathon is covered by liability insurance.
The organizers are not responsible for any claims beyond the insurance coverage limits.
Incidents unrelated to the marathon are not covered.

■ Assembly Time and Location

  • Marathon
    • Assembly Time: Before 7:00 AM on Sunday, March 15, 2026
    • Assembly Location: Gwanghwamun Square (tentative)
  • 10km Course
    • Assembly Time: Before 7:00 AM on Sunday, March 15, 2026
    • Assembly Location: Jamsil Sports Complex area (tentative)
      ※ Please arrive at the start location with enough time to warm up before the race.



■ Eligibility

  • Marathon:
    • Open to healthy men and women aged 18 or older who agree to the participant guidelines.
    • Official proof of a marathon finish time of 4 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds or less (between Jan 1, 2023 and May 25, 2025) is required.
  • 10km Course:
    • Open to healthy men and women who agree to the participant guidelines.
    • Group assignment is based on submitted records (those without records will be placed in the rear group).
      ※ On the day of the event, active athletes in athletics (running events), triathlon, or modern pentathlon may participate but are not eligible for awards.
    • Former athletes whose registration was terminated less than two years ago, or those who have represented their province/city in the National Sports Festival, are also ineligible for awards.
    • If an award winner is found to be ineligible, the award will be revoked and must be returned.

■ Cancellation and Refund

Cancellation is possible until 2:00 PM on November 30, 2025. No cancellations or refunds are possible after this date.

  • Card Payment: Refunds for card payments will be processed within 3–7 business days, depending on the card issuer.
  • How to Cancel: Contact the office (Dongma Club Inquiry) and follow the personal verification process to request a refund.



■ Assembly and Start Information

  • Marathon Participants:
    • Arrive at Gwanghwamun Square before 7:00 AM, change in the dressing room, store personal items at the baggage storage, warm up, and gather at the start line by group.
  • 10km Course Participants:
    • Arrive at Jamsil Sports Complex before 7:00 AM, change in the dressing room, store personal items at the baggage storage, warm up, and gather at the start line by group.
  • Start Times:
    • Full Course: Starts at 8:00 AM (Honorary Group, then Groups A–G)
    • 10km Course: Starts at 7:50 AM (Group A first)
  • Group Assignment:
    • Moving to a lower group is allowed, but leaving your assigned group will result in disqualification.
  • Timing:
    • Net time is measured from the moment you cross the start line.
  • Transportation:
    • Parking is not available at the start locations. Please use public transportation.



■ Time Limits

  • Marathon: 5 hours
  • 10km Course: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Traffic Control:
    • After the time limit, traffic control will be lifted. Please cooperate and follow the instructions of race officials.
    • The organizers are not responsible for any accidents or incidents on the course after traffic control is lifted.



■ Dressing Rooms and Baggage Storage

  • Facilities:
    • Dressing rooms and baggage storage will be provided for your convenience.
  • Baggage Claim:
    • Present the baggage storage sticker received when storing your items to claim them after the race.
  • Valuables:
    • Valuables cannot be stored. The organizers are not responsible for any lost or damaged items.
    • There have been cases of theft at the event site, so please do not bring cash or valuables except for necessary items.



■ Drinks and Snacks

  • Water and Sports Drinks:
    • Provided every 5 km and at the finish line.
  • Sponges:
    • Available from 7.5 km onwards, every 5 km.
  • Snacks:
    • Provided at 15 km, 25 km, and 35 km for nutrition (subject to change).



■ Timing Chip Instructions

  • Net Time:
    • Your time is measured from the moment you cross the start line.
  • Chip Check:
    • Check that the chip is properly attached to your bib when you receive it by mail. Contact the office if there are any issues.
  • Chip Use:
    • Do not bend or remove the chip.
    • Wear the bib with the chip on the outside of your clothing.
    • The chip is disposable and does not need to be returned.
    • If you do not wear the bib or cross the timing mats, you will be disqualified.
    • Lost or damaged bibs will not be replaced.



■ Disqualification

  • No Transfers or Substitutes:
    • Participation is non-transferable and non-refundable after confirmation.
  • Fraud:
    • Any fraudulent activity (e.g., using someone else’s chip) will result in disqualification and possible future participation restrictions.
  • Bib Alteration:
    • Altering or wearing a bib that does not match your registration will result in disqualification.



■ Participant Kit

  • Delivery:
    • Bibs and commemorative items will be mailed to the address provided at registration.
  • Finisher Medal:
    • Finisher medals will be given to those who complete the race.
  • Kit Delivery:
    • Participant kits will be sent before the race.



■ Privacy Policy

  • Personal Information:
    • The organizers collect personal information (name, date of birth, address, contact details, email) for insurance and event communication.
  • Use of Information:
    • Your information may be shared with sponsors and partners for service improvement and marketing purposes.
  • Disclosure:
    • Your information will not be shared for other commercial purposes, except in cases of legal action or violation of event rules.



■ Group Registration

  • Not Allowed:
    • Only individual registration is allowed.
  • Duplicate Registration:
    • Only one registration per person is allowed. Duplicate registrations will be automatically canceled and refunded.
  • Address Change:
    • Address changes must be requested by December 31, 17:00, by contacting the office.



■ Other Notes

  • Organizer’s Authority:
    • The organizers reserve the right to disqualify participants, invite special guests, cancel or postpone the event (no refunds for cancellations due to natural disasters), and change the course.
  • Photos and Videos:
    • Photos and videos taken during the event may be used for advertising, SNS, and the official website.
  • Rules:
    • Other matters follow the 2026 Korea Athletics Federation competition rules.
